Construction workers top lottery luck list

People working in the construction industry are the luckiest when it comes to playing the lottery, new research has revealed.

Figures, compiled and published by lottery organiser Camelot, have shown that construction is the luckiest sector, accounting for more than £1 billion in winnings.

According the Lucky Lottery Professions List, construction is the luckiest trade followed by administration and management.

Manufacturers and drivers were also found to be lucky, with the two trades making up the top five.

Commenting on the news, Saul Townsend of the Chartered Institute of Building wrote on Express.co.uk: "This is just one more reason to have a career within the construction industry.

"You get to leave legacies behind, win millions and travel the world. What more could you want?"

One recent draw saw a prize of £26.1 million awarded to a family of builders from Surrey.

The list also named the catering, retail, financial, care work and medical sectors in its top ten list of lucky professions.
